Are there videos of the game?

Videos can be found right here on the website.

You can also find videos on youtube.

What inspired the graphical style of the game?

Fractals of course!

We have a cube / square faced world. Using pixel art for the textures

and other art assets seemed essential for creating a visual

consistency across the board throughout the game. This means that

no matter what you are looking at, or how close/far you are away from

it, it will fit into the total visual atmosphere of the game environment.

What language is StarMade developed in?

Starmade was written completely in Java, using the Open-GL java library LWJGL.

It also uses the physics library jBullet, which has been heavily modified for StarMade.

Can I work for StarMade?

We are not currently hiring for any paid positions, developer or art positions.

When we are ready to hire for paid/unpaid positions, you will find these listed

in the Jobs section.

When will StarMade be released?

It is impossible to determine how long it will take to fully release

StarMade since we have a lot of great ideas but only two guys

working on the game full time right now.

At the time of this writing we're in Alpha mode.

Who is working on StarMade?

Robin "Schema" Promesberger has been developing the engine

behind StarMade for almost a decade! Development on StarMade

itself began around 3 years ago. Schema has an extensive background

in development, a sharp procedural mind and most importantly an all

around great guy to work with!

Kevin "Beetlebear" Collins came aboard mid 2012 and has been

re-designing the look of the game itself since then. Beetlebear has

years of experience in game design and art and has worked with

several indie teams in the past.

What is Starmade?

StarMade is a 3d space based exploration/sandbox game.

In this unique take on the cube based world game, the player

is given infinite possibilities with an infinite universe to explore

and have complete interactive freedom with. The player can

construct a ship from seemingly simple blocks to create rather

complex creations with all sorts of functionality.
