About the planet update

Hi i just saw your video on planets and i was thinking,

you make chunks exactly as in minecraft, but since your planet has a variable depth (it's a spere) won't it be much better to make cubic chunks? Then you'd mabe be able to load at first only the chunks at the surface of the planet and the ones inside afterwards, that would be much more aestethic, because what a player sees at first is the crust, and since the chunks would be cubic they'd be smaller in data size, so it would load much faster ?
